Our friends (and clients) at G&G Interiors had quite a week. As part of their annual “Romance of Art and Design” celebration:
- They brought in Tom Verellen, a hot furniture designer, for a cocktail reception and discussion;
- They coordinated with Tea at the Gallery to stage an elegant tea party featuring stunning table settings;
- They partnered with Harper Fiat on an elegant champagne tasting with hors d’oeuvres by Chez Liberty around cars parked INSIDE the store;
- They featured the vibrant art of Nashville painter Harold Kraus and had him as a guest in the store.
But of all these fancy doings, one of the most fun events was held on Saturday when the staff threw a children’s party in a huge tent in the parking lot. The theme: the Madeline storybook tales of a little French girl and her friends.
There was face-painting and magic tricks, balloon animals and child-friendly snacks like chicken nuggets, lemonade and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

The party theme was the Madeline stories.

Cookies in the shape of Madeline's hat were popular -- and cute!

Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches were a hit, too.

And, of course, the ever-popular chicken nuggets!

Lemonade to wash everything down.

Every little girl went home with a beret.

The boys got goodie bags, too. Notice the mustaches wrapped around the outside of each bag.
All this kids’ stuff reminds me to mention what a great — and unexpected — place G&G Interiors is if you are shopping for a baby gift. I am a sucker for kids’ things and the store has the most beautiful, most creative gifts I’ve ever seen.

My favorite things are these huge stuffed cows.

Look at this beautiful baby bed.

Love!

They have the best stuffed animals. So soft, too!

Some of the animals are having a tea party!

The lions are great!
I’m getting all my baby gifts at G&G Interiors from now on! And here’s another lesson I learned last week. These folks throw fabulous parties. My free advice to you: If you get invited to an event at G&G Interiors, go!
We are so lucky to have G & G in Knoxville! These great neighbors are led by Merri Lee’s big heart, and her entire staff share her gifts of hospitality and community service.
A big thanks to them for hosting events that show us how to make everyday beautiful. Oh, and yes, the baby gifts are fantastic!
Mary Ellen: You are so right about Merri Lee! The store really reflects her fabulous personality and commitment to customer service as well as great taste!
I am still trying to wrap my brain around cars parked INSIDE the store.
The Gucci Fiat was worth driving off the showroom floor.
I liked that black Gucci Fiat, too! It would make a great “downtown” car! Something you need, Gay! Alan, we need one, too!
