Word to wise: Get on over to Dogwood Festival’s Market Square Art Fair, or you’ll regret it!

I love calla lilies, so I couldn't resist this. It's by Kathy Veverka at her Spring Flower Pottery booth on Market Square.

Just a quick little post to tell everyone how great the Market Square Art Fair is this year! I’ve been there twice today to buy things and I think I’m going back to pick up just one more thing I admired and can’t live without. Hope it’s still there!

My strong advice is to go there and keep in mind Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. You’ll find something for both occasions. In addition to things for me, I picked up a great wedding gift and bridal shower gift. The Art Fair is open until 8 tonight (Saturday) and from 11 to 5 on Sunday.

I think it shows that the Dogwood Arts Festival, under the leadership of my friend Lisa Duncan, just keeps getting better and better. Knoxville is so lucky the festival is once again on the right track. Click here for a list of entertainment that will be at the Fair.

This is what I'm going back for! Anything would look good in this pottery by Doug Smith from Asheville.

I have to admire the marketing skills of this next guy, Jim McGie of Athens, Tenn. He is selling beautiful wooden things I never knew I needed! See if you agree.

And a left-handed spoon? My husband, Alan, is left-handed and we've been married 26 years. He's never mentioned having trouble with our wooden spoons. Hmm.

Entertainment changes every hour. When I was there, Dance Dimensions was offering demonstrations of various dance styles on the stage in Market Square in the Bill Lyons Pavilion.

The dancers were fun to watch.

Indeed the art is outstanding. We purchased a Nicholas Freeman charcoal drawing of the Bijou. Too bad it is so windy and cool out there. Tomorrow will be better!

Beautiful photos. I wanted to let you know that I did finally make it to Bliss for the Obama/Biden salt and pepper shakers. Now, I’m the favorite child. ; )

I love the Nick Freeman charcoal drawing we bought yesterday. Today I’m going to have a tough time deciding among the great pottery. I am also looking forward to today’s performances. Big Country’s Empty Bottle, who played at Dogwood After Dark, is playing at noon. Pistol Creek Catch of the Day is playing at 2.

Volunteering for the DAF cost me $$! The art, jewelry and food were all great! The music on the stages made it even more festive! FUN!! Nic Freeman’s charcoals are fabulous!! He will be in attendance again next year and, maybe, for Rossini next year, too! I hope Charles Pinckney will come back to town, too.
