Sunday night dinner on a beautiful East Tennessee horse farm was the perfect end to hectic weekend

One of the best things about the Knoxville Symphony League‘s Elegant Dining events is that you get to see places you might not otherwise visit. On a beautiful Sunday earlier this month, the place was the Reserve at Bluebird Hill near Lenoir City.

The Reserve at Bluebird Hill is a new 5,500-square-foot event venue smack dab in the middle of a 75-acre horse farm. It truly is lovely. The first thing Alan and I saw when we pulled into the gravel parking area was a bluebird! How fitting is that?

We had had a very hectic weekend, so ending it in such a lovely setting was so welcome. And, to make things even better, there was no program at all. Just the beautiful setting, a comforting dinner of chicken marsala and soothing harp music by the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra‘s Elizabeth Farr.

Here are a few photos of the relaxing evening. (By the way, I am very afraid of horses, so the fact that I got close enough to them to take some of these photos is a testament to how much I value the readers of The Blue Streak! My heart was pounding as I crept toward their fence, which looked as if they could practically just step over. Alan suggested it might be an electric fence, but to me, it just looked like it had a delicate cream-colored ribbon on top! Not reassuring.)

There still are about a dozen Elegant Dining events left on the schedule. Click here to check them out.

Thanks, for doing that, Jan. Two East Tennessee treasures: the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra and now the Reserve at Bluebird Hill!
