Poor Alan. Because I learned in journalism school that photos with people in them are generally more interesting than photos of things alone, I always try to put someone in the pictures I take of interesting things I run across.
Of course, who am I most often with when I run across interesting things? My sweet husband, Alan Carmichael. He has been the ultimate good sport in this regard.
But I think I may have pushed him to his limit — or beyond — a couple of weeks ago when we went to Washington, D.C., for the Urban League’s national convention. So, after this post, I’m going to give Alan a break and make some other people pose with various sights I happen upon. This is fair warning to my friends!

It must have been the gecko that put him over the edge. I am afraid your friends will be giving you a wide berth for the next few weeks! Alan does make such a great model. We will miss his appearances in the Blue Streak.
Word to our friends: check your mirrors and smile if you see Cynthia coming your way!
love it-the last one is my fave! Poor Alan, what a good sport! 🙂
But, Alan, you and the gecko look so friendly!
Love the T-shirt!
Alan is the BEST, Cynthia! I’m sure he wouldn’t say no to you, and the fact that he hams it up means he doesn’t completely hate it, but maybe it IS time to share the wealth. Happy Monday to you!
Wow! The gecko looks much bigger in person (and Elvis much smaller).
I’d say Alan IS a good sport — you didn’t even give him time for a wardrobe change. Good luck finding someone as photogenic too!
I appreciate all the nice comments, but I am definitely overexposed in the blogosphere. And Cindy, you are right: I am a ham.
The Blue Streak without photos of Alan and __(fill in the blank__) ? No way!!!
But Alan, please don’t go. Blogosphere is the only place I get to see you. Miss you both!
Must admit he looks a little worn out with it in that last picture. It’s great to be married to a good sport, isn’t it?
What a man!! You can tell he is very confident about his image as well he should be. Love ya’ Alan.
Here’s my plan: lay off him for few weeks and then coax him back gradually. Might need some help from all you friends!
