Those of us in the know have been hip to Martha's good cookin' for years, and now perhaps all those who haven't tried the fare will get on downtown to savor the chow. It's only going to get better now that we know that the Bistro will be around for a while. Congratulations to Martha on the long-term lease! Knoxville seems to finally appreciate this unique treasure that is the Bijou Theatre and it’s companion restaurant The Bistro at the Bijou. It was one of the first restaurants I experienced when I moved here from New Orleans. It almost has a New Orleans feel to it for me. I brought a friend there for dinner a few months ago that had not been before. His first words after walking in the door were "now this is the kind of place I can get lost in and never want to leave". The food, service and entertainment at the Bistro make for a fabulous experience! The Bistro is unique! It was one of the first restaurants I experienced when I moved here from New Orleans.
